We are honored that you are considering LUMS SSE as one of your options. If you are looking not to take your place among a group of high performing automatons but instead would rather be part of a dynamic mix of independent thinkers, compulsive creators, motivated problem solvers and eternal dreamers; if you suffer from chronic curiosity, are driven by your intellectual passions and fueled by challenges; LUMS SSE might be the place to have the time of your life!
Admission to LUMS SSE is highly competitive. We are looking for the best and the brightest minds that display a true enthusiasm for learning, and exhibit an extraordinary aptitude for science and mathematics. Though an outstanding academic record is a pre-requisite, a demonstrated interest in diverse activities will strengthen your application. As a school whose primary focus is research, we are looking for innovative individuals who have the potential to create knowledge and contribute to the cutting-edge frontiers of science. Our students will be the future leaders of science and engineering in the region.
There is no definite way of ensuring admission to SSE. We recommend that you use the application process as an opportunity to introduce yourself to us. This is the time to think carefully about who you are, and to believe in yourself. Make sure that your application reflects your individual voice, accomplishments and reveals your aspirations. If you reflect on what matters to you and why, you will have prepared to develop a strong application.

Recommended Curriculum for Eligibility to SSE
We believe that students who excel in a curriculum like the one listed below are well-suited for academic rigor of the programs offered at SSE:
4 years of Mathematics (including Calculus)
2 years of all basic sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
3 years of English (4 years recommended)

SSE Applications for Undergraduate Admissions are to be received by January 18, 2008. Candidates will be short-listed for the SSE Admissions Test after a pre-screening process. Foreign applicants who cannot make it to the SSE Admissions Test will be required to take instead, the SAT reasoning test and three out of the following SAT-II Subject Tests: Biology-M, Chemistry, Mathematics II-C and Physics. The TOEFL is not mandatory. We should receive your official score reports by Friday, February 22, 2008. |
